This is the translation offered in a curious little volume called “Haiku Harvest, Vol. 4,” which I bought in a used-book store in New York back when this sort of thing was hard to find.
$[border.style=solid,width=1,radius=6 $[border.color=0000,width=12 anonymous asked:
what are the biggest features that every wafrn dev on the wafrn team did]]
gabbo - wrote like. most of it
juandjara - wrote the mobile app, did some refactors and fixes to the backend
jbcrn - a lot of crimes with HTML and CSS in posts and MFM translation
fireisgood - the current settings page, keyboard navigation, other refactoring and UI work
SztupY - implemented 2FA at like almost midnight, overhauled docker-related stuff
alexia - CSS refactors to allow for multiple themes, image carousels, profile labels
there's a lot more than this ofc, and there's a lot of drive-by contributors and more infrequent contributors left out to keep the answer somewhat short, but to summarize wafrn exists today because many ppl are interested in it

「 What LLMs in Debian development will do, I fear, is eliminate any incentive to scrap boilerplate or reform policies that require a lot of other senseless human effort. If I had had access to LLMs 30 years ago, I might have just had them generate the rules files, replate with complexity. So they will make Debian even more firmly what it is, and ever less likely to explore what it could become 」

CSS Grid is now enabled by default in Servo 🎉
One of the most powerful web layout systems is now available in an independent Rust web engine. It's powered by the library Taffy & enabled thanks to Nico Burns.
A huge milestone for CSS layout in Servo!

We saw a badger in the garden! And I tried really hard to take a picture of it! And.... if you squint you might be able to convince yourself the blur in the middle of the picture is a badger!
(I am happy to have badgers, because they eat rodents that eat my garden. I just hope the badger is not hanging around during dog walking time)
@sundogplanets I see it! How fun

Why isn't this a problem in Germany?
@benjistokman
@PeterLudemann @benjistokman They established a bunch of standards some years ago. I think they limit plug in solar to 800 watts to try prevent breaker masking problems, and apparently there are also often breaker change-outs. I think they also have bidirectional GFCIs that avoid a class of issues but I don't think there are any bidirectional GFCIs in common use in the U.S. The breaker masking problem is the one of most concern from a safety standpoint.

Young people deserve better than a policy built on panic. We're happy to see France's top court acknowledge this and strike down the country's legislation banning social media for under-15s. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2026/08/french-top-court-gets-it-right-strikes-down-social-media-ban-youths
