@EndlessMason that's what they failed to mention which is that they're using javascriptcore by webkit and their lifetime issues are because they don't control the code doing the gc at all. it's remarkably deceptive

Quite a lot of forest has already been cut down, now visible on satellite images. There's more road construction east of here as well.
@NatureMC at least it will be human, with some kind of soul in it. Might not be high art but it will still beat the generic stolen slop that gets generated

The United States is taking aim at Canada once again, with a crushing new set of tariffs.
Ultimately, government will need to solve this. But in the same way Canadians are avoiding US alcohol, produce, and other goods, they should get off US tech products too.

@parismarx Nextcloud could go into every category on your list, as a long time user I'm still surprised how much it does, hell there's a D&D plugin now.
Nextcloud is harder to set up than many users will admit. Pikapods(Malta) micro hosting company that will let you one click deploy Nextcloud for less than I paid for a latte near Rogers stadium.
Also, if you have a Google Pixel, GrapheneOS is a Canadian foss project. The only OS the US alphabet boys can't crack is from Ontario.

There are 1800 golf courses in the uk which waste more than 1b litres of water annually for rich people entertainment.
They disinvented the VCR. You might think that the reason we don't have VCRs anymore is because VCRs were supplanted by DVDs, PVRs and streaming, but that's not the case. They had it in for the VCR from the very start, and they never stopped trying to kill it. Eventually, they succeeded.
