Plastic bottles can be turned into edible, vanilla-flavour cookies

This allows the yeast to convert the components into a variety of useful ingredients, including proteins, fats and acids, as well as vanilla flavouring and beta-carotene, which the body can convert into vitamin A.
Finally, fibre, starch and sweetener are added to the mix, and the paste is extruded through a 3D printer into any desired shape."

Regardless of any theoretical benefits of this process, I feel like anyone who thinks anyone will actually accept this has never been on the internet and never seen how people respond to any novel foodstuff that isn't made from plastic or by GM microbes. If people think plant-based burgers are a plot by Bill Gates to bring about the new world order or whatever I can't see this idea taking off.
