The quiet normalization of COVID-19 in our society has come at the great expense of school-age children and adolescents.
I've applied to a new job on average once per 1.6 days since the end of January (4.2 applications per week)
It's good to get so many rolls at the dice so to speak
And it's orders of magnitude better than the academic job market
But it's also exhausting

@benpate @laurenshof I would like to see word filtering extended to sentiment analysis, being applied to both server- and client-side moderation. A lot of the arguments I observe are posters getting triggered by commenters and commenters getting triggered by posters. People and groups should instead be able to tailor moderation to their invividual needs. Let people post and discuss on their terms without unwanted interactions ruining the experience.
Sure, I could see that. Can we dig into this a bit? What would we *do* with results of the sentiment analysis?
* Hide messages/responses that seem like they'd upsetting? * Apply some reply controls to hide those replies until I've okayed them?
* Reply with a DM containing a 1TB zip bomb?
This would NEED to be tailored to each person's tolerance... Sometimes you have to highlight a "reply guy" for the rest of your community - even if it's upsetting to do.
