Talking in a thread about this, I figure I should make a post for wider awareness.
USB-C extension cables are out-of-spec, and could potentially cause unexpected behaviour or damage connected equipment.
You can get active extensions that are ‘in-spec’, but that’s because they’re technically a one-port hub.
Anyway, I can’t tell you what to do, but you probably shouldn’t be using those extensions with anything you care about, or anything expensive.
You especially shouldn’t use them with anything for USB-C PD (Power Delivery)/charging.
