@cstross Far too much faith is placed in ai for images. How on earth did we get to the point where people assume ai knows how bodies or clocks or indeed any devices move or work. It's only harvesting images, using recognisable sets of pixels in proximity to other pixels. The real surprise is how ai gets any image vaguely correct in the end, even with chance, but yet people are blindly assuming it knows everything about the content of the images it steals.

And if #GitHub is not on v6 by next year, trust me, they will put _something_ in place very quickly.

@markwyner is this not 2/3 rolls stacked, so you do get a 12" / 30cm diameter roll but the width is the same as any other? would need a kind of holder with enough clearance for the large roll (and suitably secured against any cats in the house)
@vfrmedia yeah, it’s a few rolls at seemingly normal width. But the diameter is maybe 12” (33cm) across.
But it’s probably a better cat toy. 😂

What's really fun is that this tool mutates locally identical code in identical ways. `if rect.x > rect.y` will *always* turn into `if rect.x != rect.y`, in any program. (But different variables will have different results.)
That means that LLMs are more likely to learn this poison rather than the mutations averaging out as noise.
