タイトルは「Oseo：SBCLスタイルのJavaScript/TypeScript AOTコンパイラ」。SBCLやChez Schemeのように、動的型付き言語でありながらプログラム全体を事前にネイティブコードへコンパイルするJavaScriptエンジンを作っている、その話をします。TypeScriptの型注釈は最適化のヒントとして使うだけで、決して鵜呑みにしない。ヒントが嘘でも動作は変わらない。そんな設計の話です。

@ulrichkelber Ein solches Tool könnte z.B. @mixpost sein, @Sascha hatte das beim #FediDay vorgestellt.
Und man muss ja auch nicht gleich nen eigenen Server betreiben, wenn es bereits eine lokale Instanz gibt. Vlt. gäbe es sogar die Möglichkeit, die Website direkt einzubinden, Wordpress spricht ja mit dem Fediverse. Auch sowas weiß Sascha aber sicher mit noch mehr Details 
Ein starkes Argument könnte auch sein, dass hier Ausfälle wohl seltener und vor allem weniger relevant sind. Man erinnere sich an die Ausfälle von Instagram, sowas kann im Fediverse in der Form ja nicht passieren. Die Infos der Stadt sind also ziemlich sicher immer verfügbar.
Es hat mich übrigens sehr gefreut, Sie gestern in Dresden getroffen zu haben, und dass Sie bei meinem Fedi-Vortrag noch da waren!

Mastodon admins - I've popped a couple of feature requests in for mail domain and IP geolocation checking for account moderation. Both would need to be opt-in as third party services would be needed, but they'd make signup moderation a lot easier! Add a +1 or a comment if they sound useful (or the opposite!)

@Floppy Why would IP geolocation need a third party? The MaxMind GeoIP database is downloadable (Debian has a package to update it weekly), then that can be queried locally by anything (that's how I block loads of stuff on my server, from both nginx and code).

@juergen_hubert @ChrisMayLA6 The wealth of the wealthy is not an act of God. In countries with democracy, wealth concentration is mostly determined by the voters, most of whom are not rich. Most billionaire wealth today comes from bigotry, especially from grassroots racism among the poor and working class. This cannot be blamed on a few rich people. The evil billionaires do is mostly caused by lower income bigots. What you write is the opposite of the truth. It's a very popular lie.
The specifics in the USA may differ, but in Germany the bulk of the generational wealth was established long before Germany could be called a democracy - aristocratic families who lost their titles but not their wealth, and captains of industry who prospered by cozying up to the imperialists who were in charge of the Second German Empire.
Now, it's reasonable to blame the voters who do not vote to end this generational wealth, or who even directly vote for fascists and bigots. And make no mistake - I DO blame them.
But it is also reasonable to blame the scions of wealth who have stacked the deck against democracy, and who are funding fascism and bigotry with their vast resources even today. They've had more opportunities to make the world a better place than the vast majority of people will ever have in their lifetimes, and yet they choose _this_.

Although the classism has always been a huge part of both St Andrews and Edinburgh University life.
When I was at uni in Aberdeen, my university was a redbrick university. So we were aware of the differences between the working class students at our universities and those "elite" institutions.
Back in the early 2000s we knew the posh kids went to those. I fenced at university, so I'd see some of those students at university.
