"The European nation's rules of engagement requires soldiers to “immediately” counter-attack invading forces without awaiting orders. On Wednesday, Denmark's defence ministry confirmed the existence of the 1952 rule and added that it "remains in force".
The US lost big time in the jungles of Vietnam and in the deserts of Afghanistan, it's high time they complete the collection by getting their asses handed to them in icy Greenland

One of the best things about the Fediverse is that it’s easy to hide posts with certain hash tags. This is far more valuable than content warnings. People put a content warning on things they know other people might want to see, but they put hashtags on things for discovery. Don’t put hashtags and the only people who will see a post are your followers and anyone who follows someone who boosts it. Do put a hashtag and anyone following that hashtag will see it. This means that there are incentives to put hashtags on posts. And so the filtering is keyed to metadata that people are incentivised to provide.
I think maybe it's a version of this??

Now I'm really fascinated and I want to characterize this more.......
@Solaris Tout ça pour ça...
This should be a legal requirement for being allowed to sell networked devices.

If you're in Melbourne and tomorrow is #BinDay, you should definitely put your bins out tonight. Garbage trucks will be starting early AF tomorrow, I predict...
@deutrino GIMP will never get fixed. The people who use it are people who love steep learning curves, they won't ever perceive the issue.
They don't realise steep learning curves are huge lifetime black holes. "Everything is free if your time has no value" it's the open source mantra.
I'm 100% against it. Open source should be from the outset funded. You can defend open source and ensure it gets paid. You can even check directly with the devs and ask how their funding is going and donate accordingly.

@Oggie I called him Baron Harkonnen.
@catsalad Good question. I'd like to know that too. I think the weird guy from the R&D department mentioned it when we were discussing a systems migration internally in our IT department last year. To save time, we finally decided to stick with OS2. And then I read that Linux stands for "Linux is not Unix" - whatever that's supposed to mean...

While Trump claims Denmark has done too little to defend Greenland, former Foreign Minister of Denmark Villy Søvndal writes on Facebook, that the US used to have 10,000 troops on multiple bases in Greenland; but when he visited Greenland recently, he discovered those numbers have been reduced to around 140 soldiers.
So the question is: If the defence of Greenland is so important to the US, why has the US cut the defence budget and reduced their presence to just 1 military base?
I’d be interested in your reaction to this piece (gift link) in The Atlantic: Trump Seizing Greenland Could Set Off a Chain Reaction. A Greenlander and Trump fan, Jørgen Boassen, claims there is more support for annexation than is reported.
Yeah I dunno, so like we gave him 10 aircraft carriers and the nuclear codes so yes, while I absolutely recognize that this is our fault, and oh my god am I hoping we do something about this - I am terrified that we are not going do anything about this because white people figure they'll do okay under fascism as a whole (no, but telling an American they're wrong never does anything) so technically he is half the planet's problem now. I feel awful. But it is true.
