@filipesm Ahah thanks! It means a lot! We try hard to stay away from corporate / silicon valley narratives on every aspects
Public Interest Social Networks
Bonfire is built by communities, for communities. Rooted in autonomy, mutual care, and collective power. Co-create your tools, reclaim your data, and resist manipulation by shaping your own federated digital spaces.

Interested in testing #Bonfire and providing feedback? Join the new test instance at https://campground.bonfire.cafe
We also updated the website at https://bonfirenetworks.org which hopefully explains the project a bit better 😅
While the playground (an older test instance) was about experimenting with the UX and all the different features and extensions in the works, the campground only has the core and social extensions enabled while we focus on stabilising them (incl. federation) before a v1.0 release 🔥
@smallcircles @erlang_discussions @mayel fyi that's not our website, see instead: https://bonfirenetworks.org/
@rb@social.lol we're working towards a 1.0 release (of the core and social functionality) and will announce here as soon as it's ready!
@lanodan Thanks for notifying us, looking into this now! Bonfire is not yet ready to federate and we enabled it temporarily for testing. We'll add a user agent as well.

💓 you can find our work-in-progress here (with the text in markdown files) https://github.com/bonfire-networks/blog/tree/v2
@fleischie28 @RyunoKi yeah we find it quite challenging to explain, we've started working on a new website that hopefully will do a better job...
@ben_hr @riedl Participation in communities shouldn't depend on what instance you're on or what software it runs, in our opinion. That's why we implemented a feature called Topics (compatible with Mastodon in a similar way as @GuppeGroups) and will soon work on Groups.
@Janetgunter good idea! we will share screenshots with some contexts as we go through it...
Students at the #Milwaukee School of Engineering used #Bonfire to develop a federated inventory extension to empower their regional #fablabs ecosystem. We're now helping them integrate with the latest Bonfire functionality (such as boundaries) and release it as an extension.
They plan to use it next year to track the transfer, consumption and production of resources across several schools 🚀

The coordination app is the first of many that's based on the http://valueflo.ws vocabulary for economic cooperation. We're also planning to interoperate with the various #ForgeFederation projects for using it as an issue tracker for FOSS projects.
🎺 Just updated the #Bonfire playground with a new release. Goodies include:
- A basic coordination app (collaborative to-do list)
- An updated layout and navigation incl. an app switcher
