G’day! I am Simon, a German fellow living Down Under.
I got into ham radio in 2023 and hold an Advanced certificate in Australia.
My day job is in Software Engineering so I am very much interested in the software side of the hobby but I also enjoy tinkering with electronics and building things.
Looking forward to meeting lots of like-minded people!

Enjoying a teenage hobby I retook in 2019, but now with proper licenses and call signs and more than 40 years older. Struggling to improve my CW and enjoying SOTA and QRP, and more recently satellites. I love the 4 m band when it's open; 6 m is good too! PMR446 as a gateway to ham radio. Proprietary digital modes (DMR, YSF, ROS, VARAC, LoRa...) are not proper ham radio (ask me why).

My neighbor said "Cheer up. Could be worse. We could be in a deep hole in the ground full of water." I know he meant well...
