Just a heads up: we'll be closing Free account registrations in about 5 hours! Now is your chance to grab a completely free Write.as blog if you don't already have one.
As always, Free accounts created before this close time will remain free always.

After that, you can always get a free account by asking an existing Write.as user for an invite.
Otherwise, you can support our independent, 10-year-old publishing platform by subscribing to Write.as Pro! (https://write.as/pro)
And of course, you can always join one of the many independent @writefreely communities out there (https://writefreely.org/instances).
Ultimately, we face too much daily spam from non-paid users and bots that make it hard for our small team (me, @matt) to do much of anything else besides fight them off. So temporarily closing Free accounts is the easiest way to slow the tide a bit. After a little progress elsewhere, I'm sure we'll open up Free accounts again in the future.
