That's what's so weird about the Culture War moment we're in. ACT and Winston First claim to champion minority rights when it comes to free speech, yet push profoundly illiberal policies on reinterpreting Te Tiriti according to majority-rules decisions.

Now we can write all this off as cynical vote buying, but that doesn't explain why so many people seem to buy into this weird admixture of liberal and illiberal political philosophy.
