imagine having so little pride in your work that you actively thirst for a machine to replace you. this is what we see when people denigrate the C programming language

@fractalolivia @hipsterelectron you forgot the utterly abysmal error handling
@SRAZKVT @fractalolivia there's a strong distinction between "idiomatic" C using POSIX APIs and good C
@hipsterelectron it's the same as when people try to say that the earth, and not the world, is what is evil
@hipsterelectron babylonians conflate their bullshit with the beautiful meadows, just because they project their rapaciousness onto something pure out of desperation
@somebody first real hit i've seen on the babylonians
@hipsterelectron they were good at math and I will always respect that but they fucked up like we are fucking up right now and we will get what they got when babel was knocked down
@hipsterelectron i will hear no negative words about C. i hate the language, the syntax is a disaster by itself, and its memory management is even worse. also, C looks ugly. (wtf are those curly braces about?) yet, when i was 14 years old, i quickly converged to using C, because, whatever failures it may have, i can always trust unix systems to have a working C compiler. it's not a clean tradeoff, but it is a reasonable tradeoff.
