@fugueish Lots of different name polls throughout 2026. YouGov, Maris, RCP averages, etc. There’s no single current poll on all of these issues. USPollingData.com consolidates a lot of them though
Oh, and 63% of Americans understand that climate change is real, happening, and caused by burning hydrocarbons, and support expanding non-carbon energy sources. The latter is supported by 58% of Republican voters.
The age gap is telling: 81% of younger Americans support government action on climate change compared to 44% of older Americans.
No qualitative polling exists on whether that is due to “I’ll be dead when it happens so fuck ‘em”
They should poll how many of the older people think “weather is weird now” but still don’t believe in climate change.
@Cdespinosa I support the government not supporting the expansion hydrocarbon burning. Have voted on that issue for decades. Most people are younger than me, there are relatively few older. I am perplexed that people who hold these policies, the young in particular, who are clearly in the majority are not winning all the elections?
@Cdespinosa The biggest problem in America is the number of people who hate the idea of freedom for other people very much more than they love the idea of freedom for themselves
@Cdespinosa @inthehands pretty sure “America exists” would poll below 97% among Americans, that’s wild
@Catfish_Man The numbers for the Americans favoring Russian victory in Ukraine are the smallest I’ve seen for almost any poll ever. What’s odder is that I can name at least two of them
@Cdespinosa Where do these numbers come from?
