Hey there #biketooter crowd or @CycleWR and followers … I have had a weird looking collapsing bike branded “Giatex” fall into my lap, or rather my storage locker. Never heard of this and it obviously needs work. I’ve been considering but am a long way from affording a Brompton or something of that calibre.
Does anyone know ANYthing about this brand/type and if it’s worth fixing up for a season or two?
@johannab that manufacturer appears to be out of business, but there are some older articles floating around. it was pretty inexpensive new, so if it needs more work than tubes/tires/brakepads/cleaning/lubrication, might not be worth it.
they made 20" and 16" wheel models, i think this is the smaller one.
there's a long form review here
http://www.foldsoc.co.uk/giatex.html
and an old sales page that has specifications and component modelnames in case you need to replace something
