@algernon@come-from.mad-scientist.club It is very difficult for me to understand how the people in that thread who use LLMs square that with their claims that they are advocates for or experts about software freedom.
I think the argument is kinda like "using windows and vscode to write free software is a net plus even if it means having to use nonfree software" that powers the though ("using nonfree LLMs to create free software is a net plus even if the LLM is a minus"). Personally disagree but that's how I've come to understand the thought pattern

What requires explanation is how one justifies to oneself omitting some minuses but not others from the cost/benefit calculation. What also requires explanation is how one distorts one's mind to the point that it fails to see the contradiction inherent in using non-free software to produce what one wishes to call free software.
@larrythecow @abucci I simply don't try to understand the thought pattern. I don't want to understand how one can conclude that an earth & climate destroying, fascist-run, bullshit emitting machine built on stolen labour, with the express intent of turning access to skill into a rent is in any shape or form acceptable to use for anything, let alone for the goal of fighting those exact same things.
They need a professional therapist to help them, and I'm not one, and have no desire to pretend to be one.
