@randahl Same, same.
Never thought the racist and misogynist system underlying the US electoral process would result in a fascist elected 2X by a minority faction, bolstered by an equally fascistic Congress and Supreme Court.
I hope Mitch McConnell is living in hell on earth, trapped in his body, knowing he is cursed and reviled, after stealing a SCOTUS seat and refusing to convict and remove Trump. One man should not have that much power.
And that is if we are lucky. Unless the republican party is removed from power by the voters in the midterm elections, we may be facing a situation where the US will not only support Putin, but may actively ally themselves with him and invoke the law of the jungle, where the strongest have the right to prey mercilessly on the weakest.
China will do nothing (don't interrupt your enemies when they are in the process of weakening themselves) so Europe HAS to stand up and fight back. We are far (very far) from perfect, but at least we are not greedy bloodthirsty monsters with no respect for human life.
@randahl Maybe 'a' president, rather than 'the'. 😶
@randahl supported by the Republicans...
@randahl there used to be a time when there was fierce discussion about placing nuclear bombs in the Netherlands. The time of the largest demonstrations, and deep rifts between families and friends.
One of the pro-bomb slogans was: “Liever een bom in de voortuin dan een Rus in de keuken” (rather a bomb in the front yard than a Russian in the kitchen)
It looks like the Russian has found his way to the kitchen after all… The White House kitchen to be precise.
