@malteengeler Problem is, when (and not IF) this A.I. bubble bursts, it'll run like a domino game with billions of dollars in the gamble. This will not only affect A.I. companies. This will crush a lot of enterprises, will bring a situation worse than the EU crisis back in 2008. Collateral damage galore.
And the longer it takes till this bubble bursts, the more damage it will create.
@malteengeler @energisch_ @alineblankertz I wonder what kind of image could replace "bubble" to put these long-term costs and crash repercussions into focus. Maybe an ICBM, a rocket? It wastes resources, has a clear war path and when it inevitably crashes down it causes havoc? But it's not as catchy and it's missing the part that the crash is getting worse the longer it flies.
@skaphle i'd call it Powder keg with an already burning tail 💣️ @malteengeler @alineblankertz
@energisch_ That's an interesting one. But I would say is already has destructive power and it will not be a one-off explosion, but more like an implosion that will drag down everything else with it.
I somehow tend towards, but then always reject natural pictures like an avalanche or an abyss. It is not a force of nature, but at the same time, a lot of damage is set to continue, even if the incentives to invest were to disappear tomorrow.
@energisch_ I agree. This is why I hesitate to speak of a "bubble" in the first place for reasons @alineblankertz has explained as well:
