A lot of people I know shared posts about the Yandex datacenter bombing resulting in a decrease in Russian misinformation/disinformation bot activity, sometimes with charts. Let this be a reminder every one of us could be fooled by a story that we really want to be true.
@evacide I know that on Facebook, things are a lot more calmer and reasonable for the last couple of days. I don't know why. Initially I thought Facebook had updated its algorithm to remove bots as I hadn't heard about the datacentre bombings initially.
I'm hearing that Twitter and Reddit are similar, but I don't use them so I can't comment there. If it wasn't the datacentres, what has actually changed? I'm genuinely curious.

@evacide@hachyderm.io but who is the psychopath that wanted a datacenter bombed? Just asking for a psychiatrist friend.
There were also screenshots of a Yandex error on Trump's acct on Truth Social. I imagine someone's built a system so that Natalie or whoever can draft posts & Big Orange can approve, mark them up with all caps, post etc. Yandex has some role in that. But that helped amplify the idea of a connection between Yandex & Russian disinfo.
@evacide The data is there fact checking is required.
@evacide yep that one absolutely got me
@evacide let it be a reminder, that if older you gets that dumber you are. Brainwashed are everywhere
My hope is ai fakes and propoganda bots will litter social media platforms so bad that that the person of average intelligence will just deem it as one big tabloid and it will be discredited as to be a joke.
@evacide is that all made up? I really liked the story, so even its fake I enjoyed the thought
@evacide Confirmation BIas drives a lot of Social Media.
what else is ukraine lying about?
@evacide The irony to have a story about fake news getting less being fake news itself.
@evacide You are wrong. I did the math and literally thousands of trolls harassing young female Finnish politicians on Facebook all disappeared at once, at the same time, coinciding with the Yandex explosion. For most profiles I’ve taken reports of numbers dropping at face value, but because of your post and others miming it, I went and did the math. There’s a more than 90 % drop on hateful reactions and comments on the first three profiles I came across that the algorithm recommended to me. I’ve been following the troll traffic on young female politicians’ FB pages for two years now because I fear fascists are trying to influence the next Finnish parliamentary elections by making young women especially too scared to show up. Stories which gaslight and underplay real experiences on mass harrassment have come out in Finnish as a result of comments such as this so I actually find this comment somewhat harmful and as badly sourced as half on the original story. Thankfully I have eyes and a brain and I can check these stats myself on Facebook, and seems at least one user here agrees with my observations.
@evacide
I think that just means that they should bomb more data centres.
