If #GBBO is doing wearable bakes are we going to get edible projects on the Sewing Bee?
It does feel like society has got a lot less accepting of difference in recent years, but I honestly never expected to hear Nigella Lawson correcting Paul Hollywood on how throuples work on Bakeoff. Polyamory being represented on a major mainstream show has to count for some sort of progress.
@afewbugs i'd happily watch this just to see someone correct Paul Hollywood, let alone about polyam
@afewbugs I've seen some other representations that are a bit icky and tiring (hypersexualized mostly) so it's nice to hear of this chill normalizing sort of reference.
Not only did last week see polyamory representation on #GBBO, #CoronationStreet legend and lynchpin Ken Barlow just announced he was vegetarian for animal welfare and environmental reasons.
@afewbugs meanwhile the BBC censored Bethany Antonia's 'Protect The Dolls' shirt on Strictly Come Dancing
@afewbugs Which episode? Must watch immediately.
@ktoddbrown it's mentioned in the bios in episode 1, then actually comes up in the tent when the judges are talking to the contestant in episode 3.
@afewbugs newest season I assume?
@afewbugs he is *so* annoying! I just can’t watch it!
@afewbugs when they introduced the contestant, I was like, wait, there’s a throuple? A delightful surprise of representation. I’ve only seen episode 1, but I appreciate Nigella’s gentle corrections of Paul already.
@afewbugs wait, what was the context? I need to know more!
@therivercrow @afewbugs one contestant’s bio segment mentioned and showed them with their two partners, in the same matter of fact tone that other contestants’ spouses, girl/boyfriends, and significant others were.
@afewbugs gosh I hope so
