Everyone struggles with their mental health at some point in their lives. The difference is what support we have available to us.
This is one area where middle age men do particularly badly: the assumption is that because we've been trained by society to *not* rely on others and to project confidence, that inside we're OK.
I'm not suicidal, but I've had suicidal thoughts as recently as a few months ago.
So just remember, don't take someone's "I'm alright" at face value if you think something's up. That's all I'm saying.

I am not sure if for me it was a real line - or just something I told myself until I couldn't any more.
Some of us struggle more than others.
For all the supposed advantages men have in our society - we suffer a lot of unhappiness and die earlier than women.
For me finding someone to talk to helped, exercise and fresh air help
