Congrats to the Global Meteor Network team on a great paper demonstrating how bad SpaceX and other satellite operators are on following through on their promises to make their satellites fainter.
@sundogplanets as I understand it, they're also splattering electronic noise.. apparently from poor RF shielding .. all over the spectrum, to the point that radio telescopes are affected adversely.
@sundogplanets reminds me of how we went to the dark sky reserve a few months back to see the Perseids and we saw no Perseids but plenty of satellites 🤬

@CStamp The IAU doesn't have any regulatory power. And neither does anybody else. They don't have to ask forgiveness *or* permission. They just lie and then do whatever they want.
