@cwebber If they're so convinced that what they're doing is going to drive the public to take up arms against them, and their answer is to keep on rolling, maybe we should?
@cwebber They cannot ask their own Machine Gods for advice on what to do?
@cwebber sadly paywalled, anybody have a link to the full article? Sounds intriguing.
@cwebber WTF "super intelligence" they used it. They are Trump's press. OK I can understand 5hat someone as stupid as Trump can find these tools "super"intelligent when they are as stupid as him whic h is something.
@cwebber
Butlerian Jihad (Frank Herbert).
@cwebber Unreadable to humans; as for a possible violent revolutions, decades of profits seeking only for very few only named 'growth' but painted in green or rainbow colours—have only motivated such.
@cwebber honestly I'm astonished that we haven't seen more people try to burn down the data centers and scam altman's house
@cwebber I can't imagine the Democrats actually moving against "AI", precisely because they don't understand it.
It's strange that capitalists imagine the Democrats are actually likely to care about popular opinion.
If "the economy" is dependent on the "AI" bubble, then it will collapse. Any sane controlled winding down will have to be led by forces outside conventional politics. Forces which scarcely exist.
@cwebber I am less and less sure we're not on the Cyberpunk timeline here.
No doubt the corpos are drooling over the possibility of getting us going into debt to upgrade body parts required to be employable.
@cwebber is there a version of the article that doesn't require signing over ones soul?
@cwebber I predict a tepid want to pay for it instead.
