@molly0xfff Do you have friends or family in Canada or the EU? So you can try a different scenery?
"Local physician found unable to walk in own exam room after suggesting patient give up medication and try yoga.*

@molly0xfff "Have you tried just experiencing less existential crisises in modern life? Maybe try living as a serf in the 1600s?"
@molly0xfff
long time sufferer here. nothing works for long. i rotate a few to keep it guessing. lowest dose possible. cut them in half at least.
Hydroxyzine, surprisingly, Zyrtec helps me. not much luck with herbs though just ordered some Passion flower after seeing it in a list. I've been weening off some long term habits and anxiety sucks. quit taking B-vitamins that were making me jittery. controlled breathing helps me relax. weed distracts. i don't know about yoga. good luck.🍀
@molly0xfff FWIW, I have a chronic illness & had to switch doctors a couple times to get one with new ideas. 😓
Sorry you're dealing with this. Your followers appreciate & support you. 💪
@molly0xfff very sorry to read that. Hope you find an alternative soon...
Also it might be cold comfort, but you come across as very chill and calm in your podcast, and even calming.
not to be earnest twice in one day but this has been my life since... april? the downside of being a one-man band is that there’s no one to pick up the slack when the one man is going through it. extra scary when it's how you make a living. anyway, love you all, just fighting my own nervous system
@molly0xfff May Victory be yours!!!
@molly0xfff i’ve taken long-term maintenance medication for something most of my life at some point it stopped working during a particularly stressful. Period I still remember what the doctor suggested for a fix “ double the dose” which I felt at the time wasn’t really addressing the underlying issue. hang in there.
@molly0xfff Sorry to hear about the rough spot. You do great work.
Some kind of public interest organization would be lucky to take some of the make-a-living stress off your shoulders, and support your work.
Although it's a one-person band right now, remember that prioritizing improving health might be the quickest way to also get work back to 100%.
@molly0xfff
I'm sorry to hear that. It can happen with long-term meds. They stop working, you develop a new reaction, the dose needs adjusting, but you are already maxxed out.
While you work out a new plan with this Dr. or a different one, his yoga suggestion is not a joke.
Yoga is a mind/body spiritual practice. It will not work if you have a little voice in your ear telling you the devil made you do this.
Other ways to relax might work better. Various breathing techniques for relaxation. A walk after dinner. Spending a day in nature away from the grind.
Sleep relaxation. The progressive muscle relaxation technique works best for me. Usually I'm asleep by the knees if not anxious, by the jaws if really wound up.
I've never had to figured out how to relax my ears, forehead and scalp.

@EugestShirley @molly0xfff I'm skeptical that techniques like this can help much with severe anxiety, especially when brain chemistry is involved.
Not to hijack the thread, but for any bystanders with mild or situational anxiety, like I sometimes get - I also like meditation. And ASMR videos before bed helps me a lot with relaxation & sleep. 😊
@syntaxseed @molly0xfff
Yes.
Different techniques work for different people. So do different medications.
I'm not a doctor, just another person with this struggle.

You could Patreon or something similar. You have enough backers. Just trust us to hold you up as you fight for us.
@taatm i’m not sure patreon would be tremendously different from my current funding model
@molly0xfff
Where is your ‘shut up and take my money’ subscription?
Sometimes we just want to give $5 a month to support something, knowing we won’t notice it but enough of us doing it will add up.
The point is I don’t want to take your time, I want you focused on the task or on yourself for your wellbeing.
Excuse my rudeness, but shut up* and take my money.
*meant with comedy. Obviously no one should tell you to ‘shut up’, that’s abhorrent.
@molly0xfff Keep going, don't look back. Trust your self.
@molly0xfff "Can I get 100 mg and are they tablets or capsules?"
@molly0xfff Even a one-man band needs a good monkey.
