The really depressing thing here is that at least some of the listed foundations are do gooders that are being fleeced.

@davidgerard something off about a $500M 5 year initiative that has just a $10M funding for proposals as their call. Seems like another $90M that isn’t being allocated.

(Unless they are investing $10M in 10 projects which makes more sense but leaves not much to fund their operations)

And in any case seems like they come at this from an AI is good default assumption which is eh problematic.
