If I’ve learned anything from this 40 years of life it’s that people don’t care if you stop talking to them.
A minuscule amount of people will change their behavior to keep you in their lives

I replaced my phone and didn't give the number to any of the cousins on my Mom's side.
I haven't gotten any emails from them asking me how I am, or how my family is because they can't reach me via phone.
Only one cousin's wife saying my phone number doesn't work, but never really asked the above. So I was right about the reasons I didn't give them my phone. I was doing all the reaching out before.
