If TOP don't get into parliament, I'm pretty sure the current coalition will have the numbers to get back into government. You can thank Winston Peters for this dilemma! And Hipkins' lack of charisma.
A question on Qiulae. Given TOP went to market for their leader, if the party doesn't make it in do you think she'll head off for the next job? Or would she stay on?
I mean the question could also be asked of Luxon given the circumstances in which he became National leader.
I don't see Q's position as being comparable though because Luxon WILL get rolled if he loses the election. Q on the other hand will only move on if she wants to. I guess my question boils down to what do we think Q's level of commitment is?

I'm pretty sure she'd said somewhere she'd stay on. She also said she was on TOP's mailing list, if not a party member.
It was pretty weird for a party to advertise for a leader, but you can't argue with the results! :-)
I don't dispute Qiulaye is a good communicator but if you're advertising for a party leader than that's probably your number 1 consideration.
What I have a problem with is her lack of passion for anything.
If you asked me what I thought Opportunity's core political reason for existing was I would not be able to tell you.
@jeremy_pm Just so you know, I'm so disgusted by the misleading partisan nonsense you continue to throw down about Opportunity - despite having been corrected on a bunch of it more than once - that I've unfollowed you.
I expect astroturfing from Taxpayers Onion and other NatACT front groups. Seeing it done (so unskillfully I might add) in support of the Greens makes me vomit in the back of my mouth a bit. You actually put me off voting for them.

If I'm not mistaken, this is where the current dialogue originated.
Feel free to be disgusted as much as you think I deserve. 💚

If Top don’t reach the 5% threshold which I expect is the most likely scenario then their share of the party vote will be shared proportionately between all the parties that qualify for parliament so although that will lift all other parties number of seats it won’t change the proportionality of parliament significantly.
Currently the left bloc is ahead of the right so I disagree about the left needing Top to form a government but if Top fail to reach the 5% and the coalition of corruption that inexplicably Top say they will happily put back in government I won’t be blaming anyone but the Top Party and their supporters for this disaster.
