For years, left-wing parties wanted to either ban or substantially tax wood-burning stoves in Denmark, leaving people with nothing but community district heating.
Today our Prime Minister talked about the need to be prepared for possible Russian terror against public facilities — which would include district heating.
Denmark can easily have -15°C during winter, so this winter I am glad I kept my stove, and I still have 3 m³ of firewood in stock.
Have a plan B, or you don't have a plan.
@randahl it seems silly to be against wood stoves, modern models burn pretty clean and the fuel literally grows on trees, plus they are kinda romantic in my opinion. I say this as pretty much as left wing as a Dane comes.
@DavidNielsen and those trees only emit the CO₂ they consumed while growing.

The gov't tries to do the same thing here. Our house is all electric, so if the power goes out in the winter, we have a wood stove - and you bet we'll use it. A lot of people use them because they can't afford to heat with fossil fuels or electricity. But politicians, of course, never face this kind of reality, because they're on the public tit - and it's very generous,.
It's better to be safe than sorry.
