Having a joined a movie club for "films your friends won't watch with you", last night I saw...
Hundreds of Beavers!
It was a silent comedy resembling Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton but Canadian, following cartoon & videogame logic. About an applejack whose business literally burned down so he turned to fur trading.
Released in 2022 but looked like it was from a century before that! Videogames meshed in surprisingly well.
It was utterly hilarious! Much recommended!
I enjoyed the love interest in Hundreds of Beavers as well!
The protagonist fell in love with her laughing at him!
She was a butcher, once she gave him the heart from one of his kills.
And yes there was a scene (typical of 1920s comedies) where the father gave him a goal in order to win her hand in marriage.
2/1!
