It isn't like most people are hanging out with criminals, or folks in prison. Most of us are "normal", not homicidal maniacs assaulting people in our free time. Like most adults, I live at home, raise my kids, teach my teenagers how to drive, convince them to do their homework, typical stuff.
It isn't like "men" provide safe harbour to folks like the "Cornell 7". We're not out here trying to cause all sorts of pain to fellow humans, much less our mothers, sisters, and daughters.
