look, I hate the whole LLM bullshit as well. but there's a vast difference between "don't talk about ethics, just lemme use the slop machine" and "feel free to discuss it, but be aware that everyone has different opinions, be kind and respectful to each other"

the latter isn't silencing or "blocking" anything, it just serves as a reminder that the discussions are already exhausting even if you exclude the vast amount of ethical arguments to make.

and nate is probably in a hard position here: on the one hand, he as the individual just wants to build stuff without getting slopped in the face, on the other he's one of the most prominent faces in the KDE community and kinda is serving as a community manager. and from the role of someone who has to ensure that people feel welcome and are treated with respect and dignity, I do understand that one might to say: folks, be careful when talking about ethics. discussions can heat up pretty fast with them and aren't constructive either.
