I've spent the afternoon writing an AI Policy for my projects. It struck me that I really hate dealing with this at all.
I hate that the shittiest people in the tech industry created something that wreaks havoc with the internet, our privacy, our shared resources, our freedom. Yet, this insufferable hype and FOMO just permeates society on a daily basis.
There are useful ways to use it, within a fairly narrow scope. But not more than I'd be perfectly happy if it just went away.
I also find it hard to understand how people can use it so uncritically and just pump all their private information into it.
I absolutely do not want a personal AI assistant. I don't want it to answer my real life questions either. I want actual, reliable answers.
I also absolutely hate AI generated images and other media and block on sight when I see it. I *really* hate when people use them at work where I don't have that option. 🤢
