Over the course of Yom Kippur, marked in Israel on Monday, a Jewish Israeli man pepper-sprayed a 9-year-old Palestinian boy from Jerusalem's Armenian Christian community while he was riding his bicycle near the Old City.

Three days after the attack, the Israel Police said they took steps to identify the attacker, but closed the case after reviewing the evidence and exhausting all available leads.

The Armenian Quarter in the Old City has reportedly been the site of frequent harassment, violent attacks, and spitting by extremists. In the past two weeks, several incidents of Jewish teenagers attacking Christians on their way to the Western Wall have been documented.
