I love Lego. But I don’t love accumulating all of this plastic in my house.
I wish someone would make compostable Lego. Is that a thing?

@davemark before Bakelite, or more modern plastics, some things you might suspect to be plastic were painted paper maché. The paint could protect it from environmental moisture somewhat.
I think the stiffness and flexibility in one substance for one block to ‘snap’ to another would be difficult to attain in other materials.

@davemark Lego is aggressively moving towards recycled materials https://www.lego.com/en-gb/sustainability/sustainable-materials but in the meantime you can always donate your old sets so other "kids" can have fun too 🙂

@davemark do you really want lego that decomposes? They should be saved, passed down, and valued. Some day, the world will have enough lego... and they will be properly dispersed. On that day, Lego can stop being produced. #fantasyWorld
