New toy day! Treated myself to a #UnaWatch - a modular and repairable smart watch.
Has GPS, heart rate, notifications, and - most importantly - USB-C charging.
Full review once it is charged and I've given it a spin.

@LariscusObscurus adequate so far. It get my step count - but only as one block, no progress through the day.
Heartrate works fine.
Notifications are a bit finickity, but I'm still playing around with it.
@Edent apologies for not getting back to you with any further info... I was really excited initially, but lost momentum/steam after my initial experiments. Been busy with other projects instead.
I might give it another go soon when I have spare time, but at the moment the hardware info isn't published so can't do the hardware tweaking I'd got in mind, and currently the firmware isn't open/buildable either. So couldn't do the other thing I'd had in mind! 🤣
Small battery so doesn't take long to charge. Happily accepts USB-C PD but limited to fairly low power.
I'm not sure I *need* GPS on my wrist, but pretty handy to have an OS Grid Reference just a glance away.

I want you to know I learned C++ literally in THE LAST CENTURY and I'm somewhat resentful of having to pick it up again to make apps for my #UnaWatch 🥲
@Edent I want a watch that uses APL as it’s language. Complete with custom keyboard.
@Edent yeah checked the API and there’s that newfangled STL stuff - like Lisp macros but infinitely uglier 😀

@Edent modern-ish C++ is somewhat good tho. I wrote a small one-off project in Objective-C++ recently (it's a macOS app so it had to have an ObjC part to it)

I'm looking forward to your thoughts, as my Amazfit watch is getting long in the tooth.
If it works well with Gadgetbridge then I'm very tempted to get one.
@Edent Tempting, I was looking into replacing my Garmin watch. I'd be really interested in how well it integrates with the Gadgetbridge app.
