This post reflects what I've seen teams (not) doing over the past couple of years:
- It's good to see the potential for automated rewriting showing up in public posts.
- Making systems faster is a choice. Choosing to stop at 3x wins is also a choice.
- Getting the bots to do major surgery, but avoiding any attempts to excise cancerous patterns, is *developer intent*. It's a strong indicator that the Cult of React is alive and kicking.
"We need React because <ghost story>" has a different sell-by date for every shop, but things have curdled horribly by the time you're tokenmaxximg.
@slightlyoff Agentic AI has made me more productive and I'm hardly writing any code. :-)
Honestly, most of the writing I do in files with a cpp extension inow involves the thought: 'Why the hell is this comment so verbose?' and then rewriting it into something sane.

My work-hours belief is that if you tell me robots are making you so productive and you aren't even writing code any more, you've invited *more* questions about why the results are so shit vs. back-of-the-napkin, not fewer.
