feels like the lifespan of a twitterlike social media platform in terms of how long i continue to use it is about 10 years (n=2, twitter 2008-2018 and mastodon 2016-2026)

it probably doesn't help that all my friends are gone and i haven't made any new ones since this sphere got lowkey gentrified. i miss the people that used to make this space feel alive. the cultural shifts at all levels make me not wanna hang out here anymore. after all, if everyone left already, why shouldn't i?

1) i have multiple accounts
2) the intimation was that i am going to stop using mastodon.social
3) but also i am probably going to stop using mastodon altogether
4) i am maybe going to stop using fedi altogether at some point due to bigger issues with social media as a whole
5) but also specifically i miss the people who used to be here 2016-2019 or even 2019-2022, those people are just gone now
i just can't do this low-signal context-free stuff for too long, nazis or not. 2027 will probably be year of my website. and using email/xmpp/irc otherwise. i should probably start putting out feelers for anyone who wants to remain in contact if/when i abandon this account...
