@0xabad1dea This is a lot of words (and actions) for them to reach the conclusion that yes, they do have to sign up for Cloudflare – which solves it immediately.
I don't *like* it as a solution but I don't have another one. And they could have done it in the first minute.

@tomw @0xabad1dea Not for lack of trying, they actually attempted an alternative in Fastly first, but a misconfiguration got them accidentally banned from there instead
Today I learned that The Cutting Room Floor runs on just four threads and 8 GB of RAM. No wonder why do they need to permaban any LLM user agents.

Well duh, it's obvious that indiscriminate scraping is considered harmful, and I'm not too happy that A. site owners need a magnitude more of resources to counter-scrape than what LLM operators need to scrape, and B. the LLMs apparently need to consume data so inefficiently, and indiscriminately, to attempt achieving their intended functions - unlike good ol' spiderbots that only need to ping sites once per day give or take
