@realcainmosni meh. I was always posting in public. Who cares?
@Edent It's not so much the privacy aspect. Sure they could have gained the information by scraping, but that is cost-heavy and only likely to happen in one-off special cases (hi, AI-bros, you looking?). No, this is about the access to pre-processed structured data ripe for aggregation, for the purposes of marketing and manipulation. There is - to my mind - a significant distinction between the two. The same distinction I sandboxed posts on Facebook and refusing it tracking me everywhere else.
@realcainmosni I literally couldn't care less.
@Edent oh, no. This news is double plus ungood.
I feel like I'm one of about 100 active swarm users in Pittsburgh. I've held some mayorships for a decade.
@colindean you will always be mayor of our hearts. Courage, mon brave!
A perfect demonstration of why one should never make assumptions about what entities will eventually have access to your data in the future when signing up to a service in the present. @Edent
