Starting to see the pattern: mansplainers don't understand consent, but feel VERY ENTITLED to push their uninteresting thoughts into other people's mentions.
My husband mansplains my own thoughts to me.
Hundreds of times I've called him out for it. You'd think the behavior would change. It doesn't.
I had never considered the aspect of consent in this context.

@emilymbender One of the recent fedi scrapers, when everyone yelled at him for scraping everyone's content and making it opt-out, said the quiet part out loud: "if we made it opt-in, no one would use it."
I think all these guys know that if they respected consent, no one would hang around to listen to them. Barging in with their own agenda to the exclusion of all else is the only way they can get the audience that they have been led to believe they deserve.
@emilymbender I love it when they 'splain a field you have a doctorate in to you. Really. (And they don't.)
