Train tickets are fucking expensive. I'm going to Kent, not the Maldives.
@TheBreadmonkey Going to Maldives by train would be a particular experience.
@TheBreadmonkey bah, I wanted to use my ‘ticket to Rye’ pun but it’s a county over.
@TheBreadmonkey Maybe they just don't like people in Kent? Still bitter about the Romans invading.
@TheBreadmonkey Somebody was complaining yesterday that the station car park cost more than their train ticket, so for *some* journeys taking the train is just like taking the plane.
@TheBreadmonkey dude i've not been to margate because every time i look at the ticket prices i go wtf. I swear that's the most pricey train tickets in the UK from London.
@Akki @TheBreadmonkey getting to that particular neck of the woods seems bonkers expensive for some reason? A dear friend moved to Ramsgate a few years ago, and every time I'm in London I think "oh must pop down and see her" and every time I check the train tickets they cost about the same as the journey from Italy to the UK 😐
Do they just not want people to use the train in Kent?
(tongue in cheek) that's your first clue.
@TheBreadmonkey If they were to offer train tickets to the Maldives at that price, the rail service would be underwater.
