@Techaltar Thank you for the very nice in depth analysis (as always). When we are talking about privacy and security, claims and good reputation are not enough, open source is the only solution (this goes also for E2E encryption claims). What scares the most is the fact that tipically what Apple does, sooner or later, become the industry standard, and this is the last thing that i would want to become standardized.

It speaks volume about marketing and public image when a product / feature like this is announced by a big tech company: everyone was up in arms about Recall from MS, and now the Meta glasses, but this is barely talked about... because Apple is cool, I guess ?

I feel like debating on whether this is considered recording or not is not helpful?

Because the reason we don't like being recorded is due to privacy concerns and transcripts do the same. So I feel like talking about recording's definition would be a distraction and also it doesn't really matter if a recording is legal? The actual issue is conversations being recorded without permission and we should be talking about that directly instead of falling into Apple's word play tricks.

@Techaltar I' occasionally joke that I'll leave society and find some remote forest to live in.
