@joannaholman The Bunnings at Parafield in Adelaide has a very generously-sized e-waste bin down near the trades entrance; it'll take larger stuff like kitchen appliances, speakers, etc that some other locations can't fit or won't accept. Not sure if other Bunnings locations have them too, or if it's just that one.

Bunnings, JB HiFi and The Good Guys all take any size of household batteries (including button/coin cells). Bunnings also takes old power tool batteries, and JB Hi-Fi will also take old phone batteries and power banks.

Oh, and apparently Bunnings also takes plastic plant pots for recycling as well - at least, the ones made from polyprop (number 5).

Oh, speaking of Chemist Warehouse - pretty much all pharmacies will also take expired/unused medications for safe disposal, and most of them should also be able to supply the proper sharps disposal containers (and tell you where to take them once they're full) if that's something you need at home. (I have one that I use for pins that have bent beyond usefulness and broken machine needles, though I've also used it for used razor blades too, and blunt/broken craft knife blades.)
