How much is catering these days? Last time I checked it was for my wedding in 2004 so probably a bit out of date, but it's gotta be $150 a head? two sit down meals, maybe more? Maybe they're spending $100k on this?
@evcricket my Mum’s 80th is coming up. For a 2-hour stand up with room hire at a nice hotel, finger food, and *no* drinks, it’s something like $500 for the room and $50 per person.

@trib @evcricket yep, I was looking into conference catering recently for a brain fart I had and to feed people for a day (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea) it's easily $70-$100pp for stuff like muffins and sandwiches and maybe a bit of hot food
Plus there's a fully catered harbour cruise tonight which I'm skipping.
