Another one revived! I've had 1.5 PowerBooks 3400c in various states of disassembly. Now we have a complete one!
These are such funny laptops. This is basically a stretched 5300 chassis (same keyboard, trackpad/palmrest, battery, and expansion bay) with a better logic board and PCI architecture. More fiddly shit to deal with in the take apart too 😵💫
SimTower flies at 180MHz!
@thomasfuchs @likesoldmacs Mine still runs daily. It has both Ethernet and LocalTalk ports, making it an ideal bridge to a PhoneNet network.
@thomasfuchs omg mine has the same exact crack on the lower left display hinge area - but doesn't seem too broken or loose!
And the 240MHz version was the fastest laptop in the world for a hot second!
