fed up with all these vapid sanitised smiley new age bullshit error messages.
error messages are a diagnostic. if I cannot use the error message to diagnose the problem then your application might as well hard-close and tell me to go fuck myself for all it's worth.
@jpm @gsuberland Nginx still padding out the HTML in its error page to stop that behaviour
@fwaggle @gsuberland LMAO I remember that, was it 1024 bytes or something was the minimum size to override the “helpful” error message?
@jpm @gsuberland 512 bytes per Nginx docco, but yeah. Probably not required these days, but like anything temporary on the internet, it's permanent.

@gsuberland remember when Internet Explorer (I think it was 5?) started hiding error pages it received from the web server? Good times in the Web 1.0 industry trying to chase down what the fuck was going wrong.
