@decryption I think the Duo, as a product, comes with too many qualifiers. It’s not the best outer-screen phone experience, which for most people with foldables, is something like 70% of your usage. And then when you do open it up, the smaller-than-iPad-mini screen seems like it will give you a worse tablet experience, too. Are all the foldable gimmicks + questionable longevity really worth the supposed convenience of having both devices with you at the same time?
@decryption while I’m intrigued about Apple’s first foldable device as much as the next guy, we’ve had 7+ years of foldable devices, but I only know a handful of people that have one. Shouldn’t they be more popular than that, if they’re actually good? Instead foldables are like a product that’s a niche within a niche. Remains to be seen if Apple can pull it off.
@bling I’ve had a few android ones and they were okay, but yeah, unnecessary really. I wanna see how Apple tackles the same thing, with their (I hope) higher standards
@decryption maybe use the money to buy Apple shares instead.

@decryption my phone form factor opinion is that we figured out what shape worked for carrying around to read and it was the novel.
I don't care if it has a hinge, but then look at the $2000+ price tag. Even the old, second hand MS surface duo are still crazy expensive.
@subtl I used to have a 1st-gen surface duo - it was nice! at the time I didn't really have much use for the dual screen and preferred iOS, but liked the way the hardware felt
