Dunno who's speaking, but gosh, her nail and hand armor (or w/e she's wearing on her hand) are badass.
I AM GOING TO STAY A WHILE AND LISTEN!
Now don't you dare kill Decard Cain again.
@algernon@come-from.mad-scientist.club AI, here, standing for "Absurd Individual". (complimentary)
@Cyborus No, no, it does stand for Artificial Intelligence! That artifact is coffee. No coffe? algernon dumdum.
nods nods
@algernon@come-from.mad-scientist.club It never occurred to me that "artifact" and "artificial" might be related, and looking it up, indeed they are, but they took different paths to English. Artificial went Latin => French => English where Artifact went Latin => Italian => English
@algernon@come-from.mad-scientist.club specifically
facio + -s => -fex
ars- + -fex => artifex
artifex + -ium => artificium
artificium + -alis => artificialis
artificialis => artificial (Old French, then Middle English)
and
facio => factum
ars- + factum => artefactum
artefactum => artefatto (Italian)
artefatto => artifact (English)
ars meaning "art" or "skill", "facio" meaning "to do", so they both ultimately come from something meaning "thing done via skill". If you go back to PIE they both come from words together meaning "to fit/join" and "to do", so kinda "thing made by fitting things together"
@Cyborus (FWIW, I never looked it up. They looked plausible, so I went with it, like a "good" "AI" would do, O:))
Starcraft shooter... in 2030. Eh. I love Starcraft, but shooters? Nah. There are very few geners I never play, shooters are one of them.
