The Australian government announced it would force social media companies to give users in Australia a choice between the current default “infinite scroll” feed driven by algorithms accused of favouring divisive, misogynistic and extreme content, or a finite list of posts from accounts they have chosen to follow.

'Effectively' may be doing more work there than my feed would justify. I've had the experience of coming to the end of the posts of what and who I follow. 'Potetially' might be a better term but even then ...
