Heyyyyyy these were just barely naked-eye visible, and only for a couple minutes. But I got some auroras! Thanks, universe.
(Also a shit ton of satellites, as always. But the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy are still there, behind all the billionaire streaks)
@sundogplanets Auroras come from "solar wind" hitting Earth's magnetic field, correct? Is there a document that explains the timing of when an aurora will be visible from a particular spot on planet? If I am at 45° latitude, on large events that are expected to reach down to me, I am curious on my position on the rotating Earth relative to sun that the sun's wind would generate aurora, but I would be shielded from sun due to it being night?
